Junior Charter In 1998, the Scottish Golf Union, along with the Scottish Ladies Golf Association, launched the Junior Charter with the aim of encouraging Clubs to promote golf as a positive and beneficial experience for young people. To qualify for the Charter, Clubs must commit to the provision of the following key elements to allow Junior Members of all abilities to benefit from golf: BASIC TEACHING - encompassing safety, etiquette, rules and technique. An ENVIRONMENT - in which the game can be enjoyed at all levels of ability. A SYSTEM - to allow measured skill level progression based on the achievement of targets. In return the JUNIOR MEMBER shall commit to ATTENDANCE at basic teaching sessions, ADHERENCE to Club Rules both on and off the course and PARTICIPATION in competitions. To date the following COUNTY Clubs have been granted the Junior Charter and have the Certificate to this effect displayed in their Clubhouse: |
| Clydebank and District | Lenzie | Kirkintilloch |
| Douglas Park | Hilton Park | Hayston |
| Balmore | Vale of Leven | Dullatur |
| Milngavie |
| Any Club interested in applying for the Junior Charter should contact the County's Charter Assessor Alan Jones on 0141 776 7430 to obtain an application form and to have the process explained to them. |
